Through real-world case scenarios and structu red discussion\, participants will explore pre-operative work-up protocols \, anesthesia safety boundaries\, and clinical patterns that signal elevat ed risk ("lane departure warnings") during outpatient anesthesia. The cour se is intended to enhance safety\, reinforce regulatory expectations\, and support sound judgment in anesthesia case selection. Upon completion of t his 4.5-hour course\, participants will be able to:Perform a comprehensive pre-operative anesthesia evaluation\, including ASA classification\, airw ay assessment\, comorbidity review\, and indications for additional work-u p. Identify patient-specific and procedural risk factors that determine su itability for office-based sedation versus referral to a hospital or highe r-acuity environment. Apply evidence-based decision pathways and algorithm s to determine: Is this case appropriate for my office? What additional wo rk-up is necessary? When should the case be modified\, postponed\, or canc eled? Recognize early warning signs of physiological decline during outpat ient sedation and implement appropriate corrective actions. Integrate docu mentation standards\, informed consent requirements\, and NYS anesthesia r egulations into routine practice. About the SpeakerDr. Deepak Krishnan is the chief of Oral Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Cincinnati a nd at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. He is a Professor of Surgery at the College of Medicine there\, where he teaches and practices. Deepak ob tained his dental degree from Bangalore University\, India\, and trained i n Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Emory University’s College of Medicine in Atlanta\, Georgia. Upon completion of the residency\, Deepak pursued further fellowship training in Oral &\; Maxillofacial Surgery\, focusin g on orthognathic surgery at Dalhousie University\, Halifax\, Canada. He is a director of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABO MS) and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (ACS). About the Speaker
