OBEAM Course – Penn Dental Medicine

Penn Dental Medicine is offering an Office-Based Emergency Airway Management (OBEAM) course — an AAOMS-approved equivalency program designed for oral and maxillofacial surgeons. This blended course includes a 4-hour online module and a 2-hour hands-on simulation session focused on safe and effective airway management in the office-based anesthesia setting.

Details

  • CE Credit: 6.0 total (4.0 self-study / 2.0 hands-on)

  • Cost: $950

  • Small group format: 10 participants per session

  • Note: Registration for OBEAM includes up to 4 hours of pre-course self-study curriculum

    Airway anatomy and physiology • Patient selection and monitoring • Oxygen delivery systems • Bag-valve-mask (BVM) ventilation • Adjunctive airway devices (LMA/iGel, AirTraq, etc.) • Recognition and management of laryngospasm • Simulation-based airway emergency training and team-based response
